Community Preparedness

Our Emergency Situational Training and Readiness (eSTAR) course provides you with a basic understanding of emergency situations that you may encounter in your daily life so that you can assist yourself and those around you when those times occur.

Topics are split into three categories:

Medical

(Stopping heavy bleeding; CPR overview; Fractures, strains, and sprains;
Cold/heat-related injuries; Burns, bites, and stings)

Around the House

(Emergency kit / plan; Gas, water, and electricity; Fire safety)

Weather

(Wildfires, Floods, Tornados)

The class typically runs as a single session. It is primarily lecture-style with some short activities. The class includes student and quick reference guides that you can take home for future reference.
